I’m not usually the type to go in for these however-many-day challenges, but @jonolejnik made me an offer I couldn’t refuse... #10dayalbumchallenge.
The idea - I believe - is that every day for ten days I share an album that’s had an effect on me as an artist, and each day I nominate someone else to share theirs. .
Here’s today’s gem. It’s possibly my favourite album of all time, and important to me because I first heard it when I was about 13, and I loved it. Then it came back to me when I was 19/20 and I loved it again. Then again after college. And if I’m trying to put my finger on WHY I love it, here are a few (of the many) reasons:
• It whisks me away - when I hear it I’m in 1950s America, in my blue jeans, smoking illicit cigarettes in an air raid shelter and avoiding a geeky boy
• The musicianship is sublime... the harmonies, particularly the vocal ones, sound so right to my ears. They’re a perfect fit, especially on the verses of ‘Maxine’
• For me, it’s aspirational in an ‘aim for the moon and fall amongst the stars’ way. If I try to write as well as this, then I won’t accept less than my absolute best. Does that make sense?
Anyway, that was day 1, and I’d like to invite the beautiful @saracolmanmusic to take up the challenge... Fingers crossed you will, because I LOVE to hear you talking about music 💕💕💕. Until tomorrow xx
even though i did JUST post my waterparks variant collection not even that long ago, the short amount of time has brought a few new things and motivation to post my actual merch collection as well! i’m still waiting on the fandom cassette from rocksound but it’s cool. i just saw @waterparks live on sunday and was able to pick up a few things on the tour including the super cool drumhead that i am PROUD to own. you don’t see those often and i’m happy about it. seeing waterparks live reminded me of how much this band means to me and how much i enjoy supporting them. i’m looking forward to all the things the band does in the future and i can’t wait to keep up my collection for them. 💚
Afternoon Y’all.... The Rolling Stones • Goats Head Soup • Release date: 31 August 1973. •
The album was the last to be produced by Jimmy Miller, who was a key architect of the Rolling Stones sound during their most acclaimed period which began with 1968's Beggar's Banquet. Bass guitarist Bill Wyman only appears on four of the ten tracks of the album, but otherwise the rest of the Rolling Stones, including Mick Jagger (lead vocals, other instruments), Keith Richards (various guitars and backing vocals), Mick Taylor (various guitars and backing vocals), and Charlie Watts (drums), played on every track. In addition to the main band, the standard cadre of Rolling Stones collaborators also played extensively on the album, including saxophonist Bobby Keys, organist Billy Preston, pianists Nicky Hopkins and Ian Stewart, as well as several local Jamaican musicians.

Piper’s Listening Post, Vol. 135
I was all cocky a week ago, thinking my Top Ten albums of the year were set in stone. Then I listened to New Hell, the crazily brilliant new record from Greet Death, and it threw everything into disarray. I don’t even know how to describe it. Kinda sorta shoegaze, kinda sorta metal (at the sludgy, droney end of the spectrum), kinda sorta late 90s alt-rock guitar heroics. My Bloody Modest Mastodon Pumpkins? Built to Ride Queens of Dinosaur Jr.? It’s all of that and none of that and 100% one of the best albums of the year. Every year seems to have one of those under the radar, from out of nowhere records that knocks me flat on my arse. Greet Death is responsible for that record this year.

It's gold, Jerry! Gold! Van Morrison's "Moondance" was certified Gold on Nov. 19, 1976.
Blood Incantation - Hidden History of the Human Race (Nov. 2019; ltd. Galaxy press vinyl in gatefold w/ 20-page booklet from @darkdescentrecords; art by #BrucePennington)
The second full length transmission sent from the cosmic void by the analog aliens. From the wormhole to your ear holes. This is the holy trinity of consciousness, alien history, and ripping death metal injected with meditative stretches for deep reflection.
The artwork, design, and attention to detail on this vinyl release is immaculate. It even credits glyph transcription in the liner notes... Even with massive expectations, Blood Incantation stands atop the alien pyramids with this release. Insane looking vinyl and killer artwork in a matte gatefold with poster and booklet. Progressive song structure, amazing instrumentation and plenty of references and literature to dig into within the notes and art.
This interstellar stargate demon has been on heavy rotation since getting the Bandcamp download thanks to a glitch during pre-orders 🙏. Stay space. We are not alone. #nowspinning
Here’s another idea of a sweet, personalized gift to give someone to commemorate what makes this Christmas different from any other. Perhaps it’s a baby’s first Christmas, or the first Christmas for a married couple, or it’s this year’s ornament to save for the following years and add to the collection.
As you can see from the samples, there are multiple decorative elements that I can add to make your ornament look exactly the way you want it.
Pricing can be found on my Etsy page under “Personalized ornament” or you can always message or email me!
